Another try in South Dakota

Just a few of the reasons to vote NO on Measure 11: No exceptions if baby wont survive outside the womb; Women can be forced to carry their pregnancies to term; Exceptions for "health" are dangerously vague.

If you'd like more information, please visit the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Families site.

If you're wondering how this ban will affect women, here is just one excerpt from a Doctor in SD (one of very few) who perform abortions for seriously ill women...

Dr. Buehner is an obstetrician and gynecologist from Rapid City, SD who opposes the abortion ban. Buehner has previously stated that he would no longer perform abortions for seriously ill patients if the abortion ban passes, at the risk of spending 10 years in prison. He said that the phrase “accepted standards of medical practice is so vague and nebulous that no physicians I know, myself included, would take that chance.” [Wall Street Journal, 8/12/08] Such a situation would have chilling effect on a doctor’s ability to properly care for his or her patients.
In the video, Dr. Buehner says, “It’s a very difficult decision for any woman to make, but especially for women with health complications in pregnancy. […] [Under Measure 11] the decision would probably be made by attorneys, rather than the physicians or the patients themselves.”

I don't know how these anti-abortion fruitballoons would feel about having non-medical personnel make their private medical decisions (perhaps they'd be just A-okay with it) but I would prefer that every single one of my medical decisions were made by myself after proper counsel with those whose lives have been dedicated to medicine. I'll keep the legal decisions for those who have dedicated themselves to the law.

Wow. I just cried. That poor woman. How can anyone listen to her and then decide that they know better about her life choices? It makes me sick to my stomach. What would the anti-choice crowd have done in that situation? "Pro-life" is "pro-life". Lesser of 2 evils maybe? Why can't people just mind their own damn business and take care of the human beings who are already ALIVE. GET A LIFE and KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF MINE.
Sorry, just a little pissed off at the moment.

Hi Momma,

"We founded NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League) with the goal to export our pro-abortion mentality across the land. One of the strategies they used to mislead the American public was to deny what they knew to be true, that an abortion kills an existing human being.

This was the greatest mistake of my life and the greatest mistake in our nation's history."

~ Comment by Dr. Bernard Nathanson, the last living founder of NARAL, the pro-abortion organization founded in New York in the late 1960s. Nathanson Supports Measure 11 in South Dakota, a law requiring abortion providers to tell the pregnant mother that abortion terminates the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being.

Oh my, Mr. Jasper... so, you're perfectly fine with quoting a person who believes that it is okay to kill doctors for providing a much needed and perfectly legal service to women?

When discussing Paul Hill (who murdered a doctor in cold blood), Nathanson had this to say:

"If Hill had caught Dr. Britton in the act of commencing an abortion... then he would have been correct in interposing his body between Dr. Britton and the unborn, and if necessary defending the unborn with the use of lethal force if Britton was determined to proceed with his assault."

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not surprised by the fact that you embrace a man with murderous tendencies... I'm just saying that it says a LOT about you. My mother has always said "Consider the source, Kelly" and the fact that you condone such a clearly disturbed person says a lot about you - and leads me to believe that yours is a very troubled mind, indeed. But, I'll pray for you, Mr. Jasper.

Did he say that? Now I even have more respect for him. That being said, I am against vigilante justice. We have to follow laws no matter how screwed up they may be. Although, if were king, if a Doctor commited an abortion, it would be death by firing squad.

Cheers,

Jasper

Like I said Mr. Jasper, I am not surprised that you would embrace a man with murderous tendencies. Heck, you may just be a hop, skip and a jump away from this yourself. As a matter of fact, some people reading your comments already believe that you are one of those violent and disturbed people who would have no qualms about murdering an innocent person because they disagree with you on abortion. Originally I attempted to defend you using your instances of good humor on occasion and then you went and posted that "God speaks to me" bunkum and now, not only are you agreeing with a doctor who is attempting to defend a sociopath; you are also stating that this fact has made you more respectful of the unstable man. Sorry dude... now you're on your own as I agree that you may need serious psychological help and I encourage you to seek it immediately. I remember you stating that you have a wife and children to care for; is it your intention of passing on these feelings that one is free to do whatever one wants provided that it is in the name of a God (no matter if it is legal or moral?)

Now, if all of your posturing is an attempt at shock and attention then I take back the "seek help immediately" advice and replace it with a "Piss off. You wanker!"

Abortionists are not innocent Kelly. Now, I would never kill an abortionist, but I don't want the government telling other people they can't. You could say I'm 'pro-choice' on the matter.

And, I would reiterate, I'm am against vigilante justice. Laws must be followed.

Now let me get this straight Kelly, you support organizations that carry out the killing of hundreds of thousands of unborn children each year and I'm the one that needs psychological help?

LOL.

mellankelly: The OB/GYN's who perform this very needed medical service are as innocent as Podiatrists or Dermatologists - they all provide much needed services for others. And please Jasper, you aren't pro-choice and you're about as "pro-life" as Richard Speck or Ted Bundy. You'd simply target a different group of people and would have others do your bidding for you.

Mr. Jasper: And, I would reiterate, I'm am against vigilante justice. Laws must be followed.

mellankelly: From your very words it would appear as if you are not opposed to vigilante justice (when doctors who happen to perform abortion are involved), you simply object to being the one to pull the trigger.

I would say sooner rather than later.

for in the image of God made he man.

Quoting the bible is an exercise in futility. You might as well be quoting the latest Stephen King Novel. The bible is irrelevant. Particularly when you're quoting it to someone who does not believe it to be inerrant nor the word of God.

Now, that you would use a book to defend murdering innocent people (in the name of God, no less) is far from shocking. Religious extremists have been doing this for far too long; and make no mistake, you are no different.

Further, God is love. God would never support killing a person who is helping others. To suggest otherwise is contrary to the very idea of God. Listen, I understand (and agree) that each person has and is entitled to his or her own personal belief system... what is unacceptable is this justification of violence in the name of God. She would not be happy.

That video was a bunch of ridiculous words set to music and the blog it was on was unavailing (and that's putting it nicely.)

Please put forth a tiny, little effort, people... please.

I noticed you censored the video I posted...what's the matter Kelly, is your conscience bothered by it? are you afraid of the sad truth?

Does seeing children maimed and dismembered by abortion bother you?

Why don't you show it to your husband and see what he thinks or your children? Show them, why don't you? show them the barbarity of what you are advocating....

Repent!

MellanKelly said...

The only brutal thing about your video was the lack of effort put into it. Perhaps some factual information would be too much to ask for, eh? Fake baby photos shown as slides with "stories" and photo's of women and "doctors" set to touch-feely music is not a basis for an argument dear.

PS. no children are maimed by abortion.

PPS. my husband is pro-choice... I (heart) pro-choice men! There is nothing like a man who trusts a woman... you should try it sometime.

PPPS. my children are pro-choice. They were raised with this crazy notion that women are people capable of making intelligent and moral decisions for themselves.

You're an ignoramous.

anonymous: You're an ignoramous.

mellankelly: What do you call someone who misspells a word used to insult someone else's intelligence? Hmmm...

Listen, it's clear that you have nothing to back up your ridiculous claims... so you've given up on acting the sciolist and have decided to revert to grade school name calling (with authentic misspelling - kudos on that.)

PS. you do nothing for your cause
